A bicyclist was injured in a San Diego car accident the morning of July 28, 2010, 10news reports. A pedestrian who was fatally injured in a San Diego car accident the night of June 7, 2010 has been identified by authorities as 55-year-old Martha Leon. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports that the deadly crash occurred at the intersection of Vandegrift Boulevard and Parker Street in Oceanside. Leon was taken to a local medical center where she was pronounced dead. The driver of the vehicle that hit Leon told officials that she had the green light at the intersection at the time of the collision. Officials are still investigating the incident. Read full story »
Police arrested 59-year-old Richard Elwood Swanson on suspicion of driving under the influence and hit-and-run causing injury. Officials say Swanson struck a pedestrian in a Huntington Beach crosswalk at the corner of Magnolia Avenue and PCH the afternoon of June 6, 2010 and then fled the scene. The pedestrian, a 21-year-old man, was taken to a local hospital and is expected to survive. Police caught up with Swanson as he was driving to his Newport Beach home and arrested him. A pedestrian accident in Santa Ana proved fatal for 43-year-old Maria Rivera-Garcia who was walking in a marked crosswalk at the intersection of First and Center streets, The Orange County Register reports. The fatal collision occurred the morning of April 25, 2010 when the driver of a Dodge Ram going west on First Street, ran a red light and struck Rivera-Garcia. A teenager sustained injuries in a pedestrian accident after a car hit him in Valley Center, in the San Diego area. The North County Times reports that the injury collision occurred near the intersection of Cole Grade and Horse Creek roads on April 10, 2010. The victim was taken to an area medical center for treatment. California Highway Patrol officials believe that the young man may have suffered a broken leg.
It appears that the boy thankfully, did not suffer any catastrophic injuries although they were serious injuries. I wish this victim well and hope he recovers quickly from his injuries.

A woman was injured in a San Francisco pedestrian accident after she was hit by a city trash truck, CBS News reports. The injury accident happened the morning of March 9, 2010 when the woman was walking in a marked crosswalk on Presidio Avenue at Pine Street. A 63-year-old woman who was killed in a San Francisco car accident has been identified as Xiu Fang Huang. The San Francisco Examiner reports that the woman was walking across the street at Ocean and Miramar avenues the afternoon of February 9, 2010 when a city Public Utilities Commission truck hit her. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred as the truck was trying to make a left turn on Ocean. Huang was pronounced dead at the scene. A Long Beach pedestrian accident resulted in the death of a man, who was struck by a big rig at an intersection, while crossing in a marked crosswalk, The Press Telegram reports. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred when the man, who has not yet been identified, was walking across Wardlow Road at Santa Fe Avenue, in a crosswalk. A San Diego car accident involving a television news vehicle has fatally injured an elderly woman, The San Diego Union-Tribune reports. The fatal pedestrian accident occurred the evening of January 21, 2010 in the Kearny Mesa area. The woman was walking across Clairemont Mesa Boulevard at Shawline Street when the television news vehicle -- an SUV -- struck her. The driver of the vehicle told authorities that he did not see the woman walking at the intersection and that she was not in a crosswalk. A pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a San Diego car accident after being hit by a car on December 27, 2009. The San Diego Union-Tribune reports the injury collision happened near the intersection of Greenfield Drive and Peerless Drive in El Cajon. El Cajon police officials said the pedestrian, who has not yet been identified, was taken to a local hospital with major injuries.
