A car accident in Riverside left a 62-year-old woman seriously injured the evening of January 4, 2012. The Press-Enterprise reports that the injury collision happened at the intersection of Heacock Street and Kernwood Drive in Moreno Valley. Police said a Honda car struck the woman who was crossing the roadway. The driver did not stop and fled the scene. The suspect vehicle has been described as a 1990s model two-door Honda with a black hood. The woman was transported to a hospital with fractures and head trauma. Police are still looking for the hit-and-run driver.

My thoughts and prayers are with the victim of this hit-and-run car accident who has been severely injured. I pray for her swift and full recovery.

A car accident in Los Angeles involving a suspected drunk driver proved fatal for 26-year-old comedian Angelo Bowers, early morning on January 3, 2012. KTLA News reports that the deadly collision happened at the intersection of Vine and Yucca streets in Hollywood, when a Toyota Matrix struck the Jeep Wrangler in which Bowers was a passenger. Officials determined that the 21-year-old driver of the Toyota was under the influence and caused a hit-and-run collision in Hollywood just five minutes prior to the fatal crash. Bowers died from his injuries a few hours after the crash, while the driver of the Jeep, Josh Adam Meyers, suffered severe injuries. The driver of the Toyota faces felony DUI and murder charges.

Police have arrested a 29-year-old woman in connection with a car accident in Garden Grove, which left 54-year-old Gregory Martin critically injured. The Orange County Register reports that the major injury collision occurred the evening of December 28, 2011 on West Street. Martin was crossing the roadway when a Dodge Magnum driven by Guadalupe Quinonez struck him. The driver did not stop and left the scene. Shortly afterward, Martin was struck again and dragged several hundred feet by a white Ford Explorer. This time, the driver stopped and called police. Martin sustained critical injuries. Quinonez, who abandoned her vehicle in Santa Ana, but later turned herself in to authorities and is facing felony hit-and-run charges.

A car accident in Los Angeles, which involved a hit-and-run driver, resulted in the death of 22-year-old Anthony Medina the night of December 15, 2011. KABC reports that the fatal pedestrian accident occurred on Olympic Boulevard in East Los Angeles when Medina was struck while crossing the road. The driver of the vehicle that hit him did not stop.

Officials are seeking the public's help to locate the hit-and-run vehicle and suspect. A video of the crash has been posted online to help identify the vehicle and suspect. The suspect vehicle has been described as a 2008 or 2010 model blue Subaru Impreza. An investigation into this hit-and-run car accident is ongoing.

A car accident in Anaheim involving a hit-and-run driver resulted in injuries for 21-year-old Monica Varillas the morning of December 19, 2011. The Orange County Register reports that the injury collision happened at the intersection of Euclid Street and Catherine lane, when a driver in a Chevy Cavalier made a left turn in front of the victim's Honda Civic. The vehicles collided and Varillas was injured. Her 1-year-old child was not harmed. The man who was driving the Cavalier abandoned his vehicle and fled on foot. Officials are looking for the hit-and-run driver who is at large.

A car accident in Orange County the night of December 13, 201, which officials say involved a hit-and-run driver, resulted in fatal injuries for a 47-year-old bicyclist. The Orange County Register reports that the fatal crash happened at Serrano Road and Ridge Route in Lake Forest when a white van struck the bicycle and then drove away. The bicyclist succumbed to severe head injuries. Police are looking for the suspect vehicle and its driver. An investigation is ongoing.

Hit-and-Run Crash in Van Nuys Proves Fatal

A car accident in Los Angeles involving a hit-and-run driver proved fatal for 39-year-old Christina Lynn Ruvalcaba. City News Service reports that the fatal hit-and-run crash occurred the night of December 4, 2011 near Erwin Street and Vesper Avenue in Van Nuys. Police say a vehicle driven by Alfonso Garnica-Mozgueda, 33, spun out of control and hit Christina Ruvalcaba and her sister, 34-year-old Blanca Ruvalcaba, who were both standing near a 2005 Chevy pickup truck.

Tragic Car Accident

Christina Ruvalcaba sustained fatal injuries while her sister, who was attended to her 7-week-old daughter, suffered moderate injuries. The infant was unharmed. Garnica-Mozgueda fled the scene, but was apprehended by officials in his home shortly afterward. He is facing murder, hit-and-run and other charges.

A 62-year-old man, who was killed in a car accident in Los Angeles involving a hit-and-run driver, has been identified by officials as Larry Dean Hughes. City News Service reports that the fatal pedestrian accident occurred the morning of November 21, 2011 when Hughes was crossing Exposition Boulevard and Normandie Avenue in a marked crosswalk. He was struck by a white Ford Mustang that left the scene. Hughes was struck by another vehicle. The driver of that vehicle stopped to help the critically injured pedestrian. Hughes died at a local hospital. The hit-and-run vehicle has been described as a white Mustang with damage to the front end and tinted windows.

A car accident in Orange County proved fatal for a 20-year-old motorist identified by officials as Joseph Quezada. The Orange County Register reports that the fatal car accident occurred in the city of La Habra at the intersection of Cypress Street and Lambert Road the evening of November 19, 2011. It is not exactly clear how the Toyota 4Runner, Nissan Xterra, U-Haul truck and a blue Hyundai Accent collided at the intersection. Officials arrested two occupants of the U-Haul, identified as 18-year-old Richard Ambriz and 19-year-old Dustin Lish. The two fled the scene on foot, but were arrested and charged with hit-and-run. Quezada, who was driver of the Hyundai, died from his injuries. An investigation is ongoing.

Hit-and-Run Crash in Los Angeles Causes Injuries

A car accident in Los Angeles involving a hit-and-run driver resulted in injuries for two people, the morning of November 17, 2011. City News Service reports that the incident occurred at a Norms diner on North La Cienega Boulevard, when a driver crashed his vehicle into the restaurant, injuring a customer and a waiter. The motorist fled the scene on foot and left the silver Mercedes behind. Officials found bottles of beer in the back seat and the floor of the car. Officials are still searching for the suspect. The victims sustained injuries that were not life-threatening.
