Local officials have identified a 39-year-old motorcyclist injured in an Anaheim car accident as Fred Siller. According to a news report in The Orange County Register, the accident occurred when his motorcycle crashed into another vehicle on the westbound 91 Freeway near Brookhurst Street, the night of February 16, 2010. Siller was transported to a local hospital with critical injuries.
I hope and pray that Siller makes a quick and complete recovery from the serious injuries he has suffered in this accident. Please keep this victim in your prayers.
Motorcycle Accident Statistics
According to California Highway Patrol's 2008 Statewide Integrated Traffic Records System (SWITRS), there were eight fatalities and 121 injuries involving motorcycle accidents in Anaheim. Countywide, 35 deaths and 801 injuries were reported as a result of motorcycle accidents during the same year.
What Caused this Injury Accident?
This news report is not very clear about how or why this motorcycle accident occurred. I trust CHP investigators are looking at the type of vehicle that struck Siller, whose fault the accident was and whether the accident involved illegal or negligent actions. For example, was Siller struck by a driver who was operating negligently or under the influence? I sincerely hope the results of the official investigation will shed some light on this case and provide some answers to Siller and his family.
If the accident occurred as a result of the driver's fault, he or she could be held liable for the accident and the serious injuries caused to Siller. In such cases, victims can seek compensation to cover medical expenses, cost of hospitalization, surgeries, rehabilitation, physical therapy and other expenses. Victims in these types of accident would be well-advised to contact a reputed Anaheim personal injury lawyer, who has successfully represented motorcycle accident victims.
