California Highway Patrol officials said a 26-year-old U.S. Marine from Camp Pendleton lost control of his Toyota pickup truck, crossed over to opposing lanes of traffic on a Pala highway and slammed into a minivan driven by a 46-year-old woman. Both drivers were seriously injured and transported to a local hospital. The Marine was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence.
