Several People Injured in Bakersfield DUI Car Accident

A Bakersfield car accident apparently caused by a suspected drunk driver injured five people, including two children, ABC News reports. The injury collision occurred the morning of January 27, 2010 when 49-year-old Benjamin Feliz crossed into opposing lanes of traffic on Comanche Drive and crashed into a Honda Accord.

Alicia Carrera, the 33-year-old driver of the Accord and two children – ages 9 and 12 – were injured. They were taken to a local hospital for treatment of what were described as moderate injuries. Feliz was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and his female passenger faces drug possession charges.

My heart goes out to Alicia Carrera and the two children who sustained injuries. I hope their injuries were not severe and pray for their quick and complete recovery.
