A man who was struck and killed in a Los Angeles car accident by a driver who was speeding away from another hit-and-run accident, has been identified by authorities as 27-year-old Rosshadi Abauwad. This fatal pedestrian accident occurred when 32-year-old Miguel Penayo first struck a man who was part of a group with whom he had gotten into a fight. Penayo then sped on Atlantic Avenue and pulled into the driveway of a Starbucks where he hit Abauwad. He died at the scene. The other victim escaped with minor injuries.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family and friends of Rosshadi Abauwad for their devastating loss. My heart goes out to everyone who knew and loved this man. His grieving family will certainly be in my prayers.

Based on the information provided in this news report, I trust Pelayo will be facing some serious criminal charges. We do not know if there will be additional charges, which could depend on factors such as involvement of alcohol and/or drugs.
Liability Issues in Car Accidents
It would be in the best interests of Abauwad's family to consult with an experienced Los Angeles personal injury attorney, who has had remarkable success in holding negligent drivers accountable for their actions. Where negligence or wrongdoing is involved, families of deceased car accident victims can file, what is known as a wrongful death claim, and seek compensation to cover funeral costs, loss of earnings and other related damages.
