Car Accidents
There were 121 deaths and 4,683 injuries involving car accidents in the unincorporated areas of Los Angeles County, according to California Highway Patrol's 2008 traffic accident statistics. Countywide, car accidents claimed 667 lives and injured 52,229 people in 2008.
Who Was At Fault?
In any accident that occurs at an intersection, one of the most important questions to ask is whether one of the vehicles failed to yield the right-of-way to the other. Another question that normally arises is whether any negligence or wrongdoing was involved. If the driver of the fire department vehicle was at fault for the accident, then the fire department or the county could be held liable for the injuries caused. Please remember that any personal injury claim against a California governmental agency must be filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.
