California law requires drivers to come to a complete stop at a stop sign and proceed with caution. If the details of this news report are accurate, Andrade ran a stop sign at the intersection and triggered this accident. If Andrade is determined to have been at fault for this crash, then he could be held financially responsible for the injuries caused.
Victims in such cases would be well-advised to contact an experienced California personal injury lawyer who will analyze all aspects of the crash and make sure their legal rights are protected. A knowledgeable car accident lawyer will also be able to determine if this accident was caused by a dangerous or defective roadway. If that was the case, the city or governmental agency responsible for maintaining that roadway could be held liable. Any claim against a California governmental agency must be properly filed within 180 days of the accident or injury.
