A man who suffered fatal injuries in a San Diego car accident, the night of March 24, 2010, in Escondido, has been identified as 38-year-old Arnoldo Vacasefua Fuentes. San Diego 6 reports that the fatal car crash occurred in the 200 block of East Ninth Avenue when Fuentes lost control of the 1992 Toyota Camry station wagon that he was driving. The vehicle veered off the roadway and crashed into a utility pole. Fuentes died at the scene. My heart goes out to the family and friends of Arnoldo Vacasefua Fuentes for their tragic and devastating loss. They will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Car Accidents

There were 10 fatalities and 732 injuries involving car accidents in Escondido, according to California Highway Patrol's 2008 traffic accident statistics. In San Diego County as a whole, 246 fatalities and 13,527 injuries were reported as a result of car accidents in 2008.

Accident Causes

This news report does not clearly show who or what caused this tragic accident. There are many questions here. Was there a vehicle defect or mechanical malfunction in the Toyota Camry station wagon that may have caused or contributed to this fatal car crash? Was there an unsafe condition on the roadway that caused Fuentes to lose control of the vehicle? Was there another vehicle involved in this crash? I trust officials are looking into these and other issues in order to determine how this accident occurred and whose fault it was.

It would be a good idea to preserve the vehicle involved, in its current crashed condition, unaltered, so it can be carefully examined by an expert for evidence of product defects or malfunctions. If negligence or wrongdoing is suspected, families of car accident victims would be well-advised to contact an experienced San Diego personal injury lawyer, who will analyze all facets of an incident and determine the source of the negligence or wrongdoing.
