Liability Issues in Car Accidents
It's not clear based on this report how or why this fatal collision occurred. We do not know where exactly the bicyclist was riding at the time of the accident. We don't know if this happened at an intersection. If it did, then the question arises as to who had the right-of-way. If I were a member of the victim's family, I would also want to know whether the driver of the Suburban was under the influence at the time of the accident. Was the driver distracted, speeding, reckless or otherwise negligent at the time of the fatal collision? The answers to these and other questions could help determine whether there was any negligence involved here.
Victims' families, in such cases, would be well-advised to consult with a reputed California personal injury lawyer, who will examine all facets of the incident and help determine whether there was any negligence involved. Where there is negligence or wrongdoing involved, families of deceased victims may file wrongful death claims seeking compensation to cover medical expenses, loss of earning and other related damages.
